Coronavirus & Interviewing? – Oh My!

Look.  It is scary – I get it.  Over reaction, under reaction, runs on toilet paper and everything in-between.  It’s affecting business in a big way, but you still have to back fill some vacant roles. So what can we do?

  • Don’t suspend your searches just because everything is going sideways.  Those that stay calm and diligent during troubling times usually reap the biggest rewards.  While everyone else is panicking, you can interview top candidates because the other searches have been cancelled or paused – competition has been slightly lowered for the moment.  You will also distinguish yourself as a mature, steadfast, and responsible organization.
  • Interview Virtual.  No need to bring your staff or the candidate in.  Do everything via video interview.  There are plenty of good platforms out there.  Don’t have a platform?  You can use ours for free until this situation passes – NO CHARGE – no strings attached.  Just email or call me and I will set you up.
  • Focus on filling vacancies only.  If you are developing a new or expansion role back burner that one for now.  Keeping your core competencies fully staffed will ensure smooth business operations and all resources should go to those.

Be safe, be healthy, be smart, and let’s talk soon…
